Our goal is to make this a comprehensive experience where you’ll be able to take an ACLer from injury to full return to performance.
- Identify the differences between principles, frameworks, and methods
- Understand the physical qualities and characteristics of Vermeil’s Hierarchy of Athletic Development
- Describe a needs analysis and identify your buckets of need for short- and long-term planning
- Design ACL rehab and performance programs using principles and testing feedback for different phases and blocks
- Explain the different levels of periodization and how that influences planning for ACL rehabilitation
- Design an ACL session for gym, dynamic, and hybrid-based sessions
- Identify the 4 phases of the 4R Model to guide ACL rehabilitation and return to performance
- Outline the appropriate goals and priorities for prehab and post-op ACL rehab
- Implement a return to running framework, criteria, and progression
- Understand movement frameworks and streams for exercise prescription and developing a training menu to progress, regress, and lateralize movement
- Apply testing hierarchy and framework for phase progressions and return to performance clearance
- Outline the appropriate goals and priorities for mid- and late-stage ACL rehab
- Complete strength testing using a variety of evidence-based methods that are both reliable and valid
- Build a return to performance progression using the 3P pathway and integration of the control-chaos continuum
- Analyze movement and biomechanics through video feedback to allow for correction of compensations and asymmetries and utilize constraints to apply stress to targeted areas
- Communicate with multiple stakeholders and athlete to understand risk-reward and return to performance decision-making
